2011/12 touring artists announced soon

Queensland Arts Council is calling for potential exhibitions to tour with our Ontour onexhibition program in 2011 and 2012

If you, your community or your organisation has artwork (existing or in development) that could become a touring exhibition, Queensland Arts Council is seeking to partner with you in the presentation and promotion of unique cultural stories.

We are also seeking to partner with local and state government departments in the presentation of exhibitions – helping to connect the people and places of regional Queensland through visual arts.

Successful exhibitions will be bodies of artwork that celebrate a unique sense of place and identity, illustrating the diverse and creative culture of Queensland. Managed and promoted by Queensland Arts Council, the exhibitions will visit up to 10 communities per year if selected, achieving statewide and national exposure for regional artists and communities.

Exhibitions must be small scale in terms of spatial requirements and portability (Max. 30 running metres), making them accessible to all communities regardless of their location and facilities. Presented in everyday spaces, such as council offices, cinemas, visitor centres, libraries and vacant buildings, the exhibitions reach non-traditional arts audiences, making visual arts a more ‘familiar face’ in regional community settings.

Submissions are now being accepted, either as a complete exhibition or as a cohesive body of work, that will be ready to tour by November 2010 or during 2011.
