Remote Channels of Expression

Western Cape Indigenous Arts Hub

Remote Channels of Expression is an arts development project designed to build the capacity of emerging Indigenous artists in Far North Queensland’s Western Cape York Peninsula.

The artists attend training at the Western Cape Indigenous Arts Hub in Weipa, developing work that demonstrate the importance of visual arts in their lives and the contemporary influences on modern Indigenous arts practice. A culmination of the best of the year’s work, this exhibition showcases the latest artistic trends from this next generation of Indigenous artists.

The project is intended to run for three consecutive years from 2010-12, each year releasing a new exhibition for national touring.
