Rainforest dreaming for the next generation

This exhibition showcases a series of contemporary paintings by Girramay Traditional Owner Dena Leo Bunga Bunga Milbirrigun. Using visual storytelling to share her culture and identity, Dena creates contemporary interpretations of Girramay stories that form part of the little known Aboriginal Rainforest culture of the Cardwell region.

Encouraged and inspired by her late Nan, Bessie Jerry, Dena’s work passes on her people’s dreaming stories through the generations.
