Profiling Queensland regionally based artists
It is wonderful to see the trajectory of the careers of artists who tour with our program and give them the opportunity to communicate their ideas with audiences all over Queensland and Australia.
JENNI REGNART, MANAGER - ONTOUR ONEXHIBITION
Queensland has many established and successful artists, who already have a growing statewide or national presence. Ontour onexhibition provides an opportunity for regional communities to experience the artwork of fellow Queenslanders, while also providing these artists with exposure nationwide and a connection to their regional Queensland roots.
Jackie Orme Ward and Adrian Lockwood, Pendragon Boot Company

Pendragon Boot Company is the collective monniker for designer shoemakers, Jackie Orme Ward and Adrian Lockwood. Their workshop, a confusion of leather and lasts, tools and creative chaos, is located in an old tin shed at Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast.
With a resume that lists exhibition in Sydney and Tokyo, and designing shoes for Warner Brothers blockbusters, Pendragon remain with their feet firmly planted in regional Queensland. Touring Art Shoes with Ontour onexhibition, allows other regional communities to proudly witness and be inspired by the quirky talent of fellow Queenslanders.

Daniel Wallwork

Another inspiring artists, dedicated to regional communities, is Daniel Wallwork. Based in Cairns, Daniel creates a unique style of artwork mixing the worlds of visual arts and hot rod cars. Daniel's exhibition, HOON, has been touring with Ontour onexhibition for three seasons. TDue to the subject matter of HOON, venues often praise how it attracts young male audiences who would not normally enter a gallery or show any interest in visual arts exhibitions.
Daniel is also a curator, legal graffiti artist, graphic designer, youth-arts worker and is one of the founders and current Director of the ARI (Artist Run Initiative), The Upholstery Contemporary Arts group (Cairns).
Daniel also holds stencil art and spray painting workshops, offered through Queensland Arts Council's Artist Listing, for communities to develop their own work.

Annabel Tully

An artists with a strong connection with the Queensland landscape is Annabel Tully. Living in Far South West Queensland in sheep and cattle country, Annabel is no stranger to working on the land, and uses her artwork to capture her endless admiration for her region's red soil and blue skies.
Further emphasising her kinship with the land, Annabel uses the land itself as her work's medium.
'I continue to collect pigments from around Australia and include locally found ochre in my landscapes. The powdered pigments are mixed with an acrylic medium and water. Layer upon layer of very wet washes are applied to the canvas, building up layers and developing depth and hue.'
