Jo Martin

Jo Martin is a passionate advocate of the arts who has headed up a host of successful community art projects from mass marimba bands, to community theatre, to the recording of CDs to her recent success Artesian Country book, CD and art exhibition.

Ms Martin says the Artesian Country project is an opportunity to share multiple perspectives of a unique and often unknown part of Queensland.

“The artists have developed their own individual interpretations of their region, places and stories, exploring the emotions and responses that these places evoke in them.”

Tom Lockie

Master story teller and local larrikin Tom Lockie can tell you anything you need to know from bullock drays, to cooking dampers and dam sinking, whip cracking to wise cracks. Tom’s stories have recently been captured on CD and are an integral part of the Artesian Country publication. He is also extensively involved in local and regional tourism associations, and the owner and operator of Artesian Country Tours.
